The Meaning of Never Alone
I was married 51 years when we found out my hubby had GBM. We were going to St Louis area from Lakeland, Fl for our kids graduation the end of May. He couldn't drive or walk right. Everything he did he'd go to the right. When we got to our sons he couldn't talk all that in three days. We took him to Barnes Hospital in St Louis and they did MRI and found a tumor. They called it Glioblastoma. The doctors said he MAY live a year. I got an apartment so we could be together and I'd care for him. Three months later he passed.
I found GBM Never Alone support on Facebook and reached out. I don't know what I'd do without that group. I've never been alone, before. This was as alone as in emptiness and feeling so alone with something that took my hubby so fast. I had very little support with this type of tumor. The kids were just as lost as I was. There are no words to express how much I appreciate being able to ask questions as a caregiver and as a widow and talk to someone who understands.
Thank you.

I really love this organization. It has helped me in so many ways in my grieving. For my birthday fundraiser, I would appreciate any support we can give this group to help get it going.
Thank you!

I was skeptical that journaling would help me grieve the loss of husband but on a particularly hard day I decided to give it a try and it helped. I find the guided grounding to be calming and the writing helps process all the thoughts and emotions. I highly recommend it.
CHERYL: we arent tough we are just determined to make our husbands proud and make a happy moment every day. also wanted to wish everyone happy holidays since you were all there for us last year. if it wasnt for finding your group and jan i would have ended my life last year. so thank you.
ME: Oh lord - I am so glad that you feel that way - not that you would have ended your life, but proud that I had a small part in helping you in your time of need.
Cheryl: I would have ended it. Had it all planned. So know how special you are

Jan: We just wanted to say hi and see how everyone was doing. It is the holidays. You were the first person that I met and I think it was about a week after my husband died and you were so welcoming to me. If it wasn't for you I would have never met Cheryl and we have brought each other a long way. We just wanted to let everyone know that we were doing ok and wanted to kind of know how everyone else was doing.
Me: I am so glad you feel that way!!! I really try to help anyone that needs it!! You made me feel pretty special!
Jan: . You are special and don't ever forget that!!
